COMMENTS: COPE is a day school experienced in serving adolescents with behavioral health, including substance abuse, issues. COPE accepts referrals from school districts, parents and state agencies.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: A facility for cognitively disabled adults that is comprised of a licensed education program and a nationally accredited transitional living program.
POPULATION SERVED: Cognitive disabilities, ADD, PDD, autism spectrum, Asperger's, and learning disabilities.
LICENSURE: Licensed by the CT Dept. of Developmental Services, approved by the CT Dept. of Education, and national accreditation from CARF.
COMMENTS: Services 30 residents and a small number of day students in its two-year educational program and 170+ community members through its Supported Living Program. Asperger's Syndrome adult transition program also available for ages 18+. Chapel Haven West in Tucson, AZ serves people on the autism spectrum.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: The residential and school subscribes to the philosophy of PBS (Positive Behavioral Support) in conjunction with the use of a Trauma Informed Care model. Incorporate the tenets of Risking Connection, the Restorative Approach, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
